King's Field 2 Unreal Engine 5 Remake

You can now download a playable demo for FromSoftware’s King’s Field 2 unofficial remake in Unreal Engine 5

Now here is something cool. Indie dev ‘Rotmill Dev’ has shared a playable demo for his unofficial remake of FromSoftware’s King’s Field 2 in Unreal Engine 5. This demo features gameplay mechanics, allowing you to explore the first location from King’s Field 2.

Going into more details, this demo has some cool weapons and magic, as well as various enemies to fight. Players will be able to dismember them, set them on fire and lure them to traps. Moreover, the demo has interactive objects like traps, barrels, items, characters and chests full of loot.

From what I can see, the dev has tried to retain the art style of the original title. For instance, you’ll get pixelated graphics, similar to those of the early 90s PC games. Thanks to the capabilities of UE5, though, this retro-style game looks better than what you’d get in the 90s.

Now I know that the combat animations and enemy reactions are a bit rough and unpolished. However, you should keep in mind that this was created by a single person. So, for a one-man project, it’s pretty cool.

You can go ahead and download the demo from this link. Below you can also find a gameplay trailer for it. This trailer will give you an idea of what you can expect from it, so be sure to watch it.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, we recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. Don’t also forget the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 or this free Attack on Titan game. Lastly, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, a remake of Flappy Bird, and a Diablo 2 Remake Demo. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
