Halo free fan game Unreal Engine 5

Ex-Halo: Infinite dev will soon release a free Halo game in Unreal Engine 5

Halo fans, get ready for a treat. Ex-Halo: Infinite dev, Kaleb Nekumanesh, is currently working on a free Halo fan game in Unreal Engine 5. Kaleb plans to release this free game to everyone really soon, and below you can find its debut gameplay trailer.

In this free Halo game, players will return to Alpha Halo and learn the mysteries of the Mona Lisa while trying to survive a flood outbreak.

Now since this is a free game, you should temper your expectations. My guess is that this project will only have the Mona Lisa ship which players will be able to explore. So, don’t expect any planet environments or any Covenant. During exploration, you’ll also be attacked by the flood.

Despite that, I’m really looking forward to it. This first gameplay trailer looks sweet. And, since there are rumors that Microsoft is working on a remake of Halo, this fan project may give us a glimpse at what the remake might look like. That is of course provided the team responsible for Halo Remake takes full advantage of modern-day engines and platforms.

There is currently no ETA on when this free Halo game will be released. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to let you know the moment it comes out. Oh, and let’s hope that MS won’t shut it down.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, you should also check out the following fan projects. For instance, you can find some faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, which are super cool. A few months ago, we also shared an amazing remake of Toy Story 2. Then there’s this fantastic fan remake of STALKER that’s worth a look.
