As promised, 343 Industries has released a patch that adds crossplay support between the Windows 10 and the Xbox One versions of Halo Wars 2. According to the release notes, crossplay will be supported for Campaign, Blitz Firefight, Terminus Firefight, Custom Games, and all unranked playlists.
Crossplay will be rolled out in phases to make sure everything is working as intended and to give the team time to assess. Crossplay will be added to more playlists at a later date. Moreover, players who really want to see how console stacks up against PC, a new playlist called “Ranked 3v3 X War” is added supporting crossplay.
This patch also comes with one PC specific fix and one new feature. As per the changelog, the patch restores ability to rebind the Cancel command. Furthermore, it fixes default Push to Talk key (‘\’) not functioning until rebound.
The Windows 10 store will auto-download this new update once you launch its launched, and you can view the complete changelog for it below.
