Blizzard has announced that more than 30 million players have played Overwatch. Unfortunately, Blizzard did not provide any platform specific numbers or the percentage for those who have downloaded and played Overwatch during its free-to-play weekends, however this is a pretty great number.
More than 30 million players have charged into Overwatch!
Thanks for grouping up with us, heroes. We couldn't ask for a better team. 💙 pic.twitter.com/j2lRsUtpnd

Overwatch is a team-based online multiplayer first-person shooter that assigns players into two teams of six, with each player selecting one of 24 pre-defined characters, called heroes, each with unique movement, attributes, and abilities.
In Overwatch, players work together to secure and defend control points on a map or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time.
Overwatch was released almost a year ago (May 24th), so it will be interesting to see whether its community base will further increase or not!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
