Star Wars Republic Commando Fan Remake Unreal Engine 5

Here’s what Star Wars Republic Commando Remake could look like in Unreal Engine 5

Star Wars fans, here is something special for you today. YouTube’s ‘Oleksandr Maziura’ has recreated the intro of Star Wars: Republic Commando in Unreal Engine 5, which can give us a glimpse at what a modern-day remake of that classic Star Wars game could have looked like.

This project took the artist one year and a half in order to complete it. To create the new assets, Maziura used Blender and then rendered the final image in Unreal Engine 5.

Now what’s cool here is that the intro has some first-person sequences. And yes, the artist has remade those sequences in UE5. So, these FPS scenes can give you a pretty good idea of what a remake of Republic Commando could look like. In my opinion, the end result is amazing, and I highly recommend watching the video.

As with most fan remakes, this was made for portfolio purposes. In other words, there isn’t any demo or prototype to download. Nevertheless, I believe a lot of Star Wars fans will find it cool.

From what I know, there aren’t currently any official plans to remake Star Wars: Republic Commando. So, don’t hold your breath for anything like that to happen. At least in the foreseeable future. Hell, even the Star Wars: KOTOR Remake is currently in a development hell.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, you should also check out the following fan projects. For instance, you can find some faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, which are super cool.
