Unreal was a really mind-blowing game – graphics and tech wise – when it was released back in 1998. And who can forget that mesmerising fly-by intro scene? Ah, the memories. But anyway, YouTube’s ‘Tomasz Szab?owski’ has recreated that scene in Unreal Engine 4. Tomasz has done an outstanding job, although I do have to note that I really miss the fog effects that are nowhere to be found in the UE4 recreation. Moreover, I feel that the moonlight is too strong. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty cool recreation so be sure to check it out (we’ve also included the original fly-by intro scene).

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
