AMD has revealed the first official benchmark for its new graphics card, the AMD RX Vega 64. According to the benchmark, this new GPU is around 10fps faster than NVIDIA’s GTX1080 Founder’s Edition and around 16fps faster than the AMD Fury X in DOOM.
Going into more details, AMD benched the RX Vega 64, the NVIDIA GTX1080 FE and the AMD FuryX on Ultra settings and at 1440p. The team also used the Vulkan API instead of the OpenGL API (needless to say that both the NVIDIA and the AMD GPUs benefit from the Vulkan API).
The AMD RX Vega 64 was 7fps faster in average framerates and 10fps faster in minimum framerates than the NVIDIA GTX1080 FE. Furthermore, AMD’s latest graphics card was 15fps faster in average framerates and 22fps faster in minimum framerates than the AMD FuryX.
AMD has also tested eight more games and concluded that the AMD Radeon RX Vega is almost as good as the GTX1080. The games that AMD tested are: Ashes of the Singularity, Battlefield 1, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Forza, Gears of War, Hitman, Sniper Elite 4 and Warhammer. Although the team did not reveal the individual benchmarks, it shared the following image via its press release.
Our guess is that more third-party benchmarks will be revealed in the following days, so stay tuned for more. The AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 will be available on August 14th, while the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 will be available at a later date!
