Half-Life fans, here is something special for you today. Back in August, we shared a mod for Half-Life 2 that brought to it some of the alpha maps from Half-Life 2: Episode 3. And today, we present you the first mod that is based on Marc Laidlaw’s Half-Life 2: Episode 3 script.
This mod for Half-Life 2 is called Tiger Team and was created by Blendo Games. As said, this is the first mod based on Marc Laidlaw’s Half-Life 2: Episode 3 story that was revealed a couple of weeks ago. This mod is part of the Epistle 3 game jam (inspired by Laidlaw’s script), and you can expect more mods – as well as recreations in other game engines like Unreal Engine 4 – to be released in the near future.
I haven’t played the mod yet so I can’t really comment on its quality, however those interested can download the mod from here. Here are also some installation instructions.
- Unzip the file into this folder: steam\steamapps\sourcemods
- Restart Steam.
- Tiger Team will appear in your Steam library. Run Tiger Team.
- A window will appear asking to install Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer (size: about 8 GB). Install it.
- After the Source SDK download is done, run Tiger Team.
YouTube’s ‘paco robledo’ has shared a video showcasing this mod and from the looks of it, it feels kind like something in alpha phase. This mod is a bit short and feels unpolished and unfinished, even for a game jam. Still, this is something that will interest all Half-Life fans out there.
Have fun!
