As promised, the demo for Sonic 2 HD, a fan remake of the classic SEGA Mega Drive platformer, has been released to the public. This demo features both Sonic and Tales, and lets you speed through the world together as a team with a friend, or fly solo through West Side Island.
The demo features three stages that have been fully recreated: the iconic Emerald Hill Zone, the Chemical Plant Zone and the Hill Top Zone.
Those interested can download the demo from here.
Sonic 2 HD is powered by the the SonicOrca engine, enabling the high resolution visuals and overhauled interfaces seen throughout the game. According to the team, SonicOcra uses SDL2/OpenG and features built-in tools to allow for streamlined development.
Have fun!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
