The team behind the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, has announced that its emulator can now boot some triple-A games. Among these titles are Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, God of War 3, Uncharted, Gran Turismo HD Concept, WipeOut and Infamous.
Needless to say that this is a huge step for the PS3 emulation landscape. Moreover, this latest version of RPCS3 improves compatibility for a number of games. Some of them are the Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls 2, Ratchet & Clank, and Heavenly Sword.
Do note that most of the aforementioned games are not playable. Some of them have major graphical glitches, while others have awful performance. Still, the team is on the right path. The fact that they even boot is a major milestone.
It’s also worth noting that the God of War Collection is now fully playable on RPCS 3. As such, this may be the best way to experience these classic God of War games. Truth be told, these games can also be played via PCSX2. However, some gamers may be interested in the Collection that came out for the Playstation 3.
The RPCS3 team has also released a new video, showing some of the games running on the latest version of the Playstation 3 emulator. The team also plans to further improve compatibility and performance in future releases, so things are definitely looking interesting.
Enjoy!
