Ready At Dawn has announced that it will be shutting down the servers for its physics-based arena brawler, Deformers, in its Western and European markets on August 9th. According to the team, Deformers was no longer financially viable in the West and in Europe, which is why it decided to shut down its servers.
“As painful as it was, we had to make a very difficult, but necessary, decision when it became clear that Deformers was no longer financially viable in the West and in Europe. This decision will allow us to keep providing the best play experience as possible for our other games and also enable us to continue to bring you new and exciting games in the future.”
Deformers was as a physics-based arena brawler where the goal was to out-battle, out-eat, and out-score your opponent. The game supported both splitscreen co-op and online battles.
It will be interesting to see what are Ready at Dawn’s other unannounced games, and whether they will be more traditional triple-A experiences or not.
