CryZENx, best known for his amazing Zelda Ocarina of Time remakes in Unreal Engine 4, is currently working on a Super Mario 64 tech demo in Unreal Engine 4. Although we don’t know what this demo will offer, CryZENx released a comparison screenshot between this Unreal Engine 4 PC fan project and its original Nintendo 64 version.
As we can see, CryZENx aims to retain the atmosphere and aesthetics of the original game. The game definitely looks better, however it will also retain some polygon objects like the trees. On the other hand, the grass has been updated with blades (instead of simple texture) and the water will be updated (as players will be able to interact with it).
There is no ETA yet on when this fan remake of Super Mario 64 will be released. And yes, contrary to other projects we’ve featured, CryZENx will most likely release this project to the public once it’s complete.
Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
