At GamesCom 2018, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that there won’t be a new full-fledged Assassin’s Creed game in 2019. Instead, Ubisoft will keep supporting Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which releases on October 5th.
As Yves Guillemot said:
“On Assassin’s, we had a game and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin’s next year. It’s just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you’re not going to have a full-fledged one.”
Since there won’t be a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2019, our guess is that the next one will come out on next-gen consoles and PC (though there is a possibility that it will be a cross-gen title).
Still, and since Odyssey feels a lot like Origins, we hope that the next Assassin’s Creed game will be as different to Odyssey as Origins was to Syndicate!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
