SNK has just announced a new Samurai Showdown fighting game, called Samurai Spirits. Although we don’t have enough information about this new fighting game, we know that it will feature 3D graphics and will release in 2019.
SNK has also released the game’s debut trailer that you can find below. Samurai Spirits will be powered by the Unreal Engine and from the looks of it, the following characters will be present: Haohmaru, Jubei Yagyu, Nakoruru, Earthquake, Galford, Ukyo, Genjuro, Tamtam and Hanzo.
The game appears to be following Street Fighter V’s style. In other words, we’ll have a 3D game with 2D gameplay mechanics. Now I’ll have to be honest here; while its visuals look fine, I’d prefer hand-drawn 2D visuals. But then again, this will require a lot of work and I’m pretty sure that SNK will not ever produce anything as cool as the older King of Fighter games and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
But anyway, enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
