At Blizzcon 2018, Blizzard announced that it’s working on a remake for Warcraft 3, called Warcraft III Reforged. And today, we present you two videos that compare the visuals of the cinematic intro and the in-game graphics between the original and the remake versions.
Warcraft 3 Reforged is rebuilt from the ground up, with a thorough visual overhaul, with every character, structure, and environment being recreated to emphasize the depth. Reforged will also come with over four hours of updated in-game cutscenes and rerecorded voice-overs, as well as an upgraded World Editor.
As we can see, the cinematic intro has been improved and it’s looking better than ever, though I was really disappointed with the lack of the “hand reaction” at the end of it. Yes, it was not realistic at all but it was cool (at least in my opinion).
In-game cut-scenes have been severely overhauled and even though the in-game 3D models have been recreated, they look similar to their original versions. Again, there are some small aesthetic changes (for example the remake can feel a bit more cartoon-ish with its richer colours and there are some changes to the terrain textures) but for the most part this upcoming remake looks identical to its original version.
Warcraft 3 Reforged is currently planned for a 2019 release!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
