During Blizzcon 2018, Blizzard disappoint a lot of fans when it announced its Diablo mobile game, Diablo Immortal. Naturally, and since fans have paid to attend that show, most of them expected the next entry in the main Diablo series to be revealed. Needless to say that Blizzard misread its crowd and the backlash that followed was huge.
Yesterday, Nevalistis, Blizzard’s Community Manager, tried to calm their fans and assured them that Blizzard will announce more Diablo projects in 2019. As such, the highly anticipated Diablo 4 may be announced next year.
“We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we’ll be revealing over the course of the coming year.” said Nevalistis and continued:
“We are eager to share more about all of our projects, but some will have to wait as we prefer to show you, rather than tell you, about them. It’s going to take some time as we strive to meet your expectations, but now, more than ever, we are committed to delivering Diablo experiences the community can be proud of.”
Now imagine if instead of Diablo 4 Blizzard announces something entirely different, like let’s say a comic adaptation of Diablo. Now that would be priceless.
But anyway, Diablo 4 will most likely be announced next year alongside the rumoured remake of the first Diablo game.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted so stay tuned for more!
