The embargo for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX1660Ti has been lifted and the first third-party gaming benchmarks have hit the Internet. According to the results we’re seeing, this new graphics card from NVIDIA is as powerful as the GTX980Ti and GTX1070 graphics cards, and in most cases faster than AMD’s RX 590 GPU.
We’ll be looking at the gaming benchmarks of various publications, including PCPer, Hexus, Guru3D, TechPowerUp and Anandtech. Do note that these publications are testing different models of the GTX1660Ti, however these benchmarks should give you an overall idea of how this new GPU performs.
Looking at PCPer’s tests, in World of Tanks, the NVIDIA GTX1660Ti is slightly slower than the GTX980Ti and the GTX1070, though it’s noticeably faster than the AMD Radeon RX590. On the other hand, NVIDIA’s latest graphics card is faster than all three aforementioned GPUs in Middle-earth Shadow of War.
According to Anandtech’s results, the GPU is faster than both the NVIDIA GTX1070 and the AMD Radeon RX590 in Wolfenstein 2; a game that have always favoured AMD’s over NVIDIA’s hardware. In Grand Theft Auto V, a game that always favoured NVIDIA’s hardware, the GTX1660Ti is able to match the performance of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64. However, in Total War: Warhammer 2, the GTX1660Ti is slower than the AMD Raden RX590.
Looking at Guru3D’s results, the GTX1660Ti matches the performance of the GTX1070 and surpasses AMD Radeon RX590 in Battlefield 5, The Witcher 3, NVIDIA’s latest GPU is also faster than the GTX1070 and the AMD Radeon RX590 in Metro Exodus, Far Cry New Dawn and Deus Ex Mankind Divided. One of the few DX12 games that appears to favour AMD’s GPUs is Strange Brigade in which the AMD Radeon RX590 offers a superior gaming experience.
Forza Motorsport 7 also runs better/faster on NVIDIA’s GTX1660Ti according to Hexus’ results. However, Gears of War 4 appears to be running really poorly on NVIDIA’s latest GPU as the AMD Radeon RX590 is faster in this particular title than it.
Last but not least, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Monster Hunter World, Hitman 2, Darksiders 3, Dragon Quest XI, Just Cause 4 and Ghost Recon Wildlands run faster on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX1660Ti than on the AMD Radeon RX 590.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX1660Ti is priced at $279 MSRP and is available today!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
