YouTube’s ‘Heat Games-Play’ has shared a Mugen remake of one of the best SNK 2D fighting games to date, Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Now what’s really interesting here is that this free Mugen game feels and plays better than the original arcade version, something that will definitely please all SNK fans out there.
This Garou: Mark of the Wolves remake in Mugen features all of the highly detailed animations that SNK created for this game, and – like all Mugen games – comes with some new/extra moves. Not only that, but the game feels like an enhanced version of the original game, and we really have to congratulate its creator for that. All hit reactions and hit-boxes are on point, movement is really smooth and does not appear “weightless,” and the game does not feel like some cheap Mugen recreation.
Given the fact that Garou: Mark of the Wolves is not an abandonware title, we strongly suggest purchasing it from Steam (in case you want to download and play this free Mugen remake).
We don’t expect SNK to send any C&D letter as we’ve seen a lot of Mugen remakes for a number of SNK titles, from Fatal Fury to King of Fighters. Still, and given the fact that there is a very small possibility for a take down, we suggest downloading it while you still can.
