It appears that the new official WRC game from Bigben Interactive, WRC 8, may now be an Epic Games Store exclusive. Its official website currently has Epic’s logo and not one for Steam, suggesting that the game may not, initially, come out on Valve’s digital service.
Bigben has not announced anything yet about it. Moreover, the Steam page for WRC 8 is still live and indicates a September 2019 release date.
It’s worth noting that previous game from Bigben, The Sinking City, was also an Epic Games Store exclusive. As such, it seems plausible for WRC 8 to ditch Steam in favour of the Epic Store. After all, and similar to all other Epic deals, Epic would offer Bigben a minimum guarantee on sales.
Again, Bigben has not confirmed yet whether the game will come out exclusively on the Epic Games Store. However, all signs point at such a thing.
We’ll be sure to publish another story once the publisher clarifies the platform on which the game will be available on the PC.
WRC 8 is currently scheduled for a September 5th release!
