Intel Core i3-10100 spotted on Sisoftware; supports Hyper Threading, features 4 cores/8 threads

It appears that the first Intel CPU processor based on the Comet Lake architecture has been leaked via Sisoftware. According to Sisoftware’s database, the Intel Core i3-10100 is part of the 10th Generation Comet Lake-S family, and supports Hyper Threading.

This is really huge as Intel had removed Hyper Threading from a lot of its 9th generation CPUs. For instance, the Intel Core i3 9100 only features 4 CPU cores and 4 CPU threads. So, if the new Intel Core i3 support HT, we can safely assume that it will perform similarly to the current Core i7 CPUs.

Going into more details, the Core i3-10100 will have a clock speed of 3.60GHz. It will also include 6MB of L3 cache & 1MB of L2 cache. Our guess is that this is the default as the Core i3 9100 is also clocked at 3.6Ghz. Therefore, the Core i3 10100 may have a Turbo Boost speed of 4.2Ghz.

Do note that all of this is based on the Sisoftware leak. As such, things may change since these specs may not be final.

According to earlier rumours, Intel’s 10th generation CPUs will launch in October and will be available for purchase in November. That rumour suggested a paper launch on October 7th (which never happened). Intel is also planning to release the Intel i9 9900KS later this month, so these 10th generation CPUs may be slightly delayed.

Kudos to our reader Metal Messiah for bringing this to our attention!
