The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind came out 17 years ago, in 2002. Let that sink in. 17 years. This game is probably older than some of you. And even to this date, its community is heavily supporting it by releasing brand new mods for it.
Today we are bringing you four mods for Bethesda’s classic RPG. The first two aim to overhaul its magic system, while the third one introduces a dual wielding gameplay mechanic. And its final and fourth mod, adds a Hardcore Mode to it.
Let’s start with Magicka Expanded. This mod provides a framework to add new and fully functional magic effects to Morrowind. These effects behave just like vanilla effects: you can create new spells, enchant items, give them to companions, and treat them how any other effect would be treated. Magicka Expanded currently adds 109 new magic effects, and you can download it from here.
On the other hand, Magic Mechanics contains multiple mods that add new magic mechanics to Morrowind. Therefore, players will be able to control spell projectiles while in flight after casting a spell or enchantment, and add cast-on-swing enchantments.
As its title suggests, Morrowind Dual Wielding allows players to hold two weapons and use the second weapon to block. However, do note that this mod will only work with vanilla, non-enchanted, non-quest related weapons.
Last but not least, Morrowind Hardcore Mode makes the game more challenging. This mod overhauls all armors, weapons and creatures. It also overhauls the economy system, meaning that Mercantile and Speechcraft now have a real purpose.
Have fun!
