|Totalitarian| has released a brand new beta version of the Unreal Evolution mod. Unreal Evolution is an all-round upgrade for the single-player mode of the 1998 FPS classic “Unreal” (or Unreal Gold).
In case you didn’t know, |Totalitarian| is the creator of the GMDX mod for Deus Ex. Thus, and similar to GMDX, Unreal Evolution brings numerous gameplay and AI improvements.
Version 2.0 adds AI compatibility to Unreal Evolution’s Mutator. As such, you can enable Unreal Evolution’s Mutator and get UE’s upgraded weapons, AI and inventory in other mods.
Moreover, this new version improves the dodging mechanics. Players can now dodge up any sloped surface, and dodging is slightly faster. Additionally, V2.0 adds a dodge meter to the HUD and slightly increases step height.
As said, Unreal Evolution V2.0 comes with a number of AI improvements. For instance, it reduces the frequency that Mercenaries use their tech by 20%. It also improves the Giant Gasbag AI, forces Brutes to only ram down small doors, and reduces fly health slightly. Furthermore, Slith can use their soundwave attack slightly more frequently and efficiently, and can use their spit ranged attack at a greater range. Not only that, but this new version adds a new minor enemy type, the baby spider.
In short, this is a must-have mod for all those that want to replay this classic FPS.
You can download the Unreal Evolution V2.0 Beta from its Discord page.
Have fun!
