Petroglyph has released the second major update for Command & Conquer Remastered that adds support for LAN play. LAN Play can be accessed directly from the Main Menu, and includes the ability to play LAN games with Mods enabled and over certain VPN networks.
Furthermore, this patch adds the ability to change the resource regeneration speed in Skirmish and Multiplayer games. It also adds a shortcut “Download” button to the Join Game and Lobby screens.
This second update also brings a number of Quality of Life improvements. For instance, it adds a flash back to the Nuke explosion in both games. It also adds the ability to Quickload with a Hotkey. Quicksaving should also now work in Custom Missions and Skirmishes with Custom Maps.
Alongside the QoL improvements, this second patch brings a huge number of bug fixes. For example, it fixes a crash when sometimes loading the next Nod campaign mission. It also fixes a crash when destroying Ant nests in the ant missions or a crash when sometimes using the Ion Cannon.
Petroglyph is doing an amazing work at supporting the game. In June 2020, the team released the game’s first patch that added private game lobbies.
As always, Steam and Origin will download this latest update the next time you launch their clients. You can also find its complete changelog here.
Have fun!
