Remaster Studio has just released a new version of the latest graphics overhaul mod for the first Crysis game, Crysis Enhanced Edition. This new version of Crysis Enhanced Edition is almost 11GB in size, packs some graphical improvements and enhancements.
We first reported on Crysis Enhanced Edition in July 2020. Last month, the team removed its mod from ModDB, something that raised some yellow flags. At first, we thought that the mod was cancelled. However, Remaster Studio re-assured fans that a new version of the mod was in the works.
But anyway, going into more details, this new version of Crysis Enhanced Edition adds real-time reflections on Reckoning level. It also reworks jungles in order to make them more dense.
Furthermore, this new version improves real-time reflections on sea water, as well as Ambient Occlusion coverage. Not only that, but it also reworks lighting and TOD on all levels. Additionally, it adds new grass on Island, Village, Rescue, Harbor and Tank levels, which reacts to player moves and casts shadows.
Moreover, Crysis Enhanced Edition adds probes based global illumination system for indoors location on Island , Village, Rescue, Harbor levels. It also brings optimizations on various levels, such as Village, Rescue, Harbor, Ascension and Reckoning.
