SEGA and Atlus have released Persona 5 Strikers for those that have pre-ordered its Deluxe Edition. However, and while its Steam store page lists Denuvo, it appears that the companies have released a Denuvo-free build of it.
The version that the Deluxe owners can download from Steam right now does not contain the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
We’ve seen this happening in numerous games, so it’s not really shocking us. Sometimes developers forget to implement Denuvo in specific builds of their games. For instance, the GOG version of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided did not have Denuvo (whereas its Steam version had it). Similarly, Capcom had accidentally removed Denuvo from one of Resident Evil 2 Remake’s and Devil May Cry 5’s builds. Additionally, the Bethesda store version of RAGE 2 did not use Denuvo. Also, the Bethesda store version of Doom Eternal also lacked Denuvo. So yeah, this is nothing new.
My guess is that SEGA and Atlus will “fix” this by adding Denuvo to the version that will release on February 23rd. This will obviously suck as Denuvo will only affect the legitimate owners of Persona 5 Strikers. So yeah, here is hoping that SEGA will completely remove Denuvo sooner rather than later.
Persona 5 Strikers officially releases on February 23rd!
