Epic Games has just announced that an Early Access version of Unreal Engine 5 is now available for download. This Early Access version is available via the Epic Games launcher.
Unreal Engine 5 will empower game developers and creators across all industries to realize next-generation real-time 3D content and experiences with greater freedom, fidelity, and flexibility than ever before.
As Epic noted, this Early Access build is for game developers who like to live on the bleeding edge to start testing features and prototyping their next games.
Epic Games plans to release the full version of Unreal Engine 5 in early 2022. Below you can also find a video that highlights some of the engine’s new game development features and workflows.
We should also note that the sample project is 100GB in size. Additionally, Nanite supports currently only PC and next-gen consoles only. And lastly, developers can freely upgrade their projects from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
