First gameplay footage for Abandoned will surprise you, and it’s not Metal Gear Solid or Silent Hill

Abandoned is the gift that keeps on giving. After numerous delays, Blue Box Game Studios issued a patch for Abandoned that introduces a… 5 seconds GIF. And that’s it.

Ironically, this gameplay footage is the exact same Blue Box shared on Twitter before delaying it. In other words, gamers have been waiting for two entire days for a GIF that Blue Box had already shown.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; this is one of the best gaming trolling jokes we’ve seen to date. After numerous delays, Blue Box had delivered mere seconds of in-engine footage. And no, this isn’t Metal Gear Solid or Silent Hill.

At this point, I’m simply reporting this just for the fun. Because this is truly hilarious. And I personally love every second of it.

Fun fact: With this constant baiting and switching, Blue Box has managed to increase its Twitter followers to 56K. In other words, this unknown indie studio has more followers than Housemargue, the team behind Returnal and Resogun.

In case you want to see this 5 second GIF, you can go ahead and watch it below. Again, this was posted before the app went live. I guess that 5 seconds footage is what Blue Box has managed to create this whole time, which is why there isn’t anything else. So, again, what was the purpose of releasing an app for Abandoned? PR marketing and nothing more.

This is one of the best gaming pranks. And, let the new theories begin for this being a “secret” app of a new Silent Hill or Metal Gear Solid game. After all, the main character looks like the one from Silent Hill (which isn’t really hard to fake) right? Right?
