Microsoft and Asobo have announced that World Update 6 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been delayed until September 7th. Moreover, the teams have revealed some of its key features and from the looks of it, this update will further improve the game’s graphics.
Going into more details, Asobo has added an “Offscreen terrain pre caching” graphics setting. If players set this option to Ultra, the game will cache all the offscreen terrain at full quality which will reduce FPS drops and LOD popping when panning the camera. However, this may impact overall performance.
Additionally, the has increased the maximum photogrammetry draw distance. As such, photogrammetry of downtown building areas will be visible from farther away. Not only that, but cities at night will be now more visible on the World map.
Naturally, this World Update will also address some crashes and instability issues.
Microsoft and Asobo plan to release its full notes when the patch releases on September 7th.
Stay tuned for more!
