During its recent livestream, Electronic Arts and Motive Studio revealed the first in-engine footage for Dead Space Remake. Dead Space will be using the Frostbite Engine, and its first early in-engine footage looks quite good.
EA has also shared some before/after comparison screenshots between the original and the remake. These screenshots will give you an idea of the graphical differences between them. Again though, keep in mind that this is an early development build. As such, it does not represent the quality of the final build.
One of the big features of the original Dead Space game was its dismemberment system. And from the looks of it, the remake will have the same detailed (or identical) dismemberment system.
As EA has stated, Dead Space Remake will “bring jaw-dropping visual fidelity and improvements to gameplay while staying true to the original.” Additionally, the remake won’t have any microtransactions and will have cut content from the original game.
Electronic Arts plans to release Dead Space Remake in Fall 2022.
Enjoy!
