In January 2022, we informed you about a fan remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica. Created by Matt Croft, Briins Croft and DarkNemesisUmbrella, this fan project will feature 3D environments and a third-person perspective. And below, you can find a video showcasing five minutes of gameplay footage from it.
Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake will feature two modes: Remake and Classic. The Remake Mode will feature a third-person camera and faithful expanded scenarios. On the other hand, the Classic Mode will have fixed camera angles like the original game.
Furthermore, the game promises to feature new cinematics, new gameplay mechanics, expanded scenarios and puzzles, and save rooms.
From what I can see, this fan remake uses Claire’s 3D model from Resident Evil 2 Remake. Moreover, it also appears to be using a lot of assets from Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Back in June 2021, the team released a WIP demo for this fan remake. Unfortunately, though, this demo is no longer available for download.
Now I’m pretty certain that Capcom will soon send this team a C&D letter. After all, and instead of creating new assets, the team is using licensed assets from a commercial game.
Speaking of Resident Evil Code Veronica, there is also a PSX Demake that is currently in development.
