NVIDIA has lifted the review embargo for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, and a lot of third-party gaming benchmarks have hit the Internet. As such, and in order to give you an idea of how this new GPU performs, we’ve decided to share some of them.
Guru3D has shared ray tracing benchmarks in games like Watch Dogs Legion, F1 2022 and Cyberpunk 2077. At native 4K (and without DLSS 2), the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 appears to be significantly faster than the RTX 3090Ti. However, it’s nowhere close to the beast, the RTX 4090.
PCGamesHardware has included some really demanding rasterized games, like Total War: Warhammer 3, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Red Dead Redemption 2. At native 4K, the RTX 4080 is unable to offer a smooth gaming experience. Not only that, but in some games the performance increase over the RTX 3090Ti is not that big.
TechPowerUp reports that the RTX 4080 is slower by 20% in Elden Ring than the RTX 4090. This means that it’s faster by 17% than the RTX 3090Ti. The RTX 4080 is also slower than the RTX 4090 by 12% and 18% in Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, respectively.
Lastly, HardwareUnboxed has benchmarked 13 games, claiming that the RTX 4080 is 23% slower than the RTX 4090.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
