Now here is something cool. Capcom has just issued a new update for Resident Evil Village that removes the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from it.
Capcom has also removed Denuvo from the game’s Steam store page. As such, we are certain that this removal was intentional, and not accidental.
Resident Evil Village came out in May 2021. In other words, it took Capcom almost two years in order to remove it. Still, this is great news for all those that wanted to play it (but boycotted it due to Denuvo). Furthermore, PC gamers can now benchmark this new version in order to see whether Denuvo affected its overall performance.
To be honest, though, we are not surprised by the removal of Denuvo. After all, Capcom has removed it from most of its older titles. For example, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Devil May Cry 5 and Monster Hunter World no longer have it.
Have fun!
