Quake 4 fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘y2keeth’ has released Version 3.1 of his Hi-Def Mod for Quake 4. This is a must-have mod for everyone that wants to replay this id Tech 4-powered Quake game, and we highly recommend downloading it.
For those unaware, Quake 4 Hi-Def attempts to overhaul the game’s graphics by improving its textures and 3D models. Moreover, V3.1 adds full shadow map files.
Quake 4 came out in 2005 and was using an enhanced version of the “Doom 3 Engine“. To be honest, though, I always found its graphics inferior to Doom 3. I don’t know why, but I was never impressed by Quake 4. Still, it was a cool first-person shooter, at least for its time.
y2keeth is also the man behind Doom 3 BFG: Hi-Def Mod and Prey “HD Remaster”. Thus, we also suggest downloading these mods for these games.
You can download this latest version of Q4 Hi-Def from here. Below you can also find some screenshots, as well as a gameplay video that showcases the mod in action.
Have fun!
