Deep Silver and Starbreeze have shared a new developer diary for PAYDAY 3 which features some new gameplay footage from its closed beta phase.
In this developer diary, Starbreeze focuses on the game’s weapons and combat mechanics. Therefore, if you’re interested in it, we highly recommend watching it.
At launch, PAYDAY 3 will be using Unreal Engine 4. However, Starbreeze plans to upgrade the game to Unreal Engine 5 after its initial launch.
Starbreeze has not revealed whether the UE5 version will be using any of the new features. In other words, we don’t know whether PAYDAY 3 will use Nanite or Lumen. We also don’t know whether it will have any Ray Tracing effects.
Now I have to be honest here. I wasn’t particularly impressed by the beta gameplay footage of PAYDAY 3. It looks good, but there is nothing particularly impressive here. So yeah, make sure to temper your expectations. As a bonus, here is another video that packs around 20 minutes of leaked gameplay footage from PAYDAY 3’s beta.
The good news here is that PAYDAY 3 will release on both Steam and Epic Games Store. This is a pleasant surprise, so kudos to Deep Silver. Moreover, from what we can see, the game won’t be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Or at least that’s what the Steam store page implies.
Deep Silver will release PAYDAY 3 on September 21st.
Enjoy!
