Do you remember that cool Unreal Engine 5 The Matrix Awakens Megacity Demo? You know, the one you can get for free on the Epic Marketplace. Well, guess what? There’s someone trying to sell it on Steam.
Titled “Matrix World“, this is simply a packaged version of the Megacity Tech Demo and nothing more. This is a scam and since we know that some folks from Epic Games read us, we wanted to raise awareness. So, hopefully, Epic will work with Valve in order to take it down.
According to Steam, the “publisher” of this “game” is Netlex Studio. It’s not Netflix, it’s Netlex. Netlex was also behind some other small projects that used earlier versions of Unreal Engine. So yeah, don’t expect much from it.
Again, this is a scam and you should stay away from it. If I remember correctly, someone tried to sell a version of Megacity in which you could control Superman. This “Superman game” was based on a free UE5 demo that was also released for free to everyone.
Talking about Unreal Engine 5, we recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. After all, we here at DSOGaming have shared numerous of them.
