Bethesda has just released a new beta patch for its space RPG, Starfield. The November 8th Update adds official support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation. Additionally, it packs both GPU and CPU performance optimizations.
In the November 8th update, Bethesda tackled a number of memory problems and leaks. It also made some GPU performance and renderer threading model improvements. These improvements will mainly benefit those with high-end gaming PCs. So, in theory, the game should run faster. And that’s without using DLSS 3.
What’s also interesting here is that Bethesda has fixed an issue where mouse movement could be choppy. So, mouse movement should be better now. Not only that but it has further optimized the game’s shaders. Players can also expect improvements to the lighting and shadows. Bethesda has also improved the eyes on crowd characters. So, I guess most of the NPCs won’t be staring at you now.
And that’s not all. The developers have added Brightness and Contrast options in the Display Settings menu. So, now you won’t have to use a mod in order to change them. And yes, Bethesda has also added an HDR setting.
All in all, this is a major update for Starfield. It took Bethesda a while, but it has at least addressed a lot of technical issues that most PC gamers had with it.
To gain access to this update, you’ll have to open your steam Library and navigate to Starfield. Then, you’ll have to right click on “Starfield” and select “Properties”. In the new menu, you’ll have to select the Beta tab, and select “[beta]”. After doing this, Steam will download a separate build for Starfield Steam Beta.
