Hi-Rez Studios has officially announced SMITE 2. SMITE 2 will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and below you can find its debut in-engine trailer.
SMITE 2 is a third-person action 5v5 MOBA. The game will feature full cross-play and cross-progression. As such, you will be able to play with your friends regardless of platform.
It’s also worth noting that SMITE 2 will be friendly to newcomers. The game will have auto-build and auto-level so you focus on fighting. On the other hand, more advanced players will have access to item building, map control, and tactical brilliance.
According to the devs, SMITE 2 will have a variety of game modes, including Ranked. Sadly, though, Hi-Rez Studios has not shared any additional details about them.
And that is that. There is currently no ETA on when the game will come out. However, we do know that it will hit Epic Games Store and Steam. So, in case you were wondering, no. Even though SMITE 2 uses Unreal Engine 5, it won’t be exclusive to Epic’s digital store.
Before closing, I should note that the Steam store page also has some PC system requirements for it. However, I don’t know whether or not they are accurate. According to them, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core 2 Duo or and AMD Athlon X2 with 4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT. The recommended PC specs list an Intel Core i5 and AMD Phenom II X3 alongside an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 and an ATI Radeon HD 7950. From the looks of it, these are the exact same PC requirements for the first SMITE game. So, as I said, I don’t think they are accurate.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
