Epic Games is currently offering for free Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on Epic Games store for a limited time. From today until March 21st, PC gamers can visit its EGS page and acquire their free copy.
In this game, you once again assume the role of Adam Jensen. Now an experienced covert operative, Jensen is forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was the second part in a new Deus Ex trilogy. However, Square Enix abandoned those plans when the game failed to meet its high commercial expectations. Then, Square Enix sold the IP to Embracer. And now, the IP is on ice. Yes, Embracer claimed that it would revisit it. However, the company currently faces a lot of financial issues. So yeah, don’t expect a new Deus Ex game anytime soon.
Mankind Divided had a lot of potential. The amount of hidden things this game has is truly incredible. The game set in motion a lot of events, and man… I can’t really talk about them as I might spoil them. Just… pay extra attention to the game’s main menu background.
It’s a shame what happened to Mankind Divided. According to some reports, Square Enix intervened in its development. According to some reports, SE cut content from it so that it could release it sooner. Now there isn’t any concrete evidence of this. However, when you finish the game, you’ll definitely feel like that wasn’t meant to be its ending.
Anyway, you can go ahead and acquire your free copy from this link. So, if you haven’t played, waste no time and get it.
Have fun!
