Capcom has released a new 7-minute game overview trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2 that is being narrated by Ian McShane. This trailer packs purely in-engine footage, so make sure to watch it.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a single-player, narrative-driven action RPG. In this game, you get to make a bunch of choices, like how your character looks, their job, who joins your team, and how you handle different parts of the game. The game uses the RE Engine, and promises to have great physics and smart enemies. And, since RE Engine is a really efficient engine, we can assume that it will run smoothly on a wide range of PCs.
In November 2023, Capcom shared the game’s official PC requirements. These PC specs seemed a bit high, which may explain why the console versions are at 30fps. For gaming at 2160i/30fps, Capcom recommended an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6700. Plus, these requirements were for the non-RT version of the game.
It’s also worth noting that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will run with 60fps only on PC. While the console version will have an unlocked framerates, they’ll barely be able to hit 30fps. So, for the best gaming experience, players will have to play it on PC.
At launch, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will also support Ray Tracing and DLSS 3 Frame Generation. So, thanks to DLSS 3, PC gamers will be able to further improve performance. However, there is still no word on whether or not the game will support AMD FSR 3.0.
Capcom will release Dragon’s Dogma 2 on March 22nd. The game will be also using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech at launch. Given Capcom’s history, though, we expect the Japanese team to remove one or two years after the game’s release.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
