Monster Hunter Wilds may be targeting a Q1 2025 release date

Industry insider ‘Dusk Golem’ has revealed that Capcom is aiming to release the next Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Wilds, in Q1 2025. Dusk Golem also shared some additional details about the game, so let’s take a look at them.

For those wondering, Dusk Golem is a reliable source for Capcom’s games. Still, since this is a rumor, we suggest taking it with a grain of salt. After all, Cacpom hasn’t revealed any official release date for this title as of yet.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be fully open-world, and it will introduce more experimental mechanics than Monster Hunter Rise and/or World. Moreover, the game will have ideas that were scrapped from Monster Hunter World. Plus, it appears that the game will have a huge Godzilla-like monster.

According to Dusk Golem, Capcom has been working on Wilds for over six years. And, from the looks of it, Capcom will go all out on this one. Monster Hunter Wilds is the game that will most likely carry Capcom’s whole fiscal year.

Anyway, as I said, take everything you read with a grain of salt. Things may change in the blink of an eye. Still, I don’t really see MHW missing its 2025 release date and slipping in 2026.

Finally, we don’t know whether Monster Hunter Wilds will be using the Unreal Engine or the RE Engine. And, after what has happened with Dragon’s Dogma 2, I believe Capcom should stick with UE for its open-world titles.

Stay tuned for more!

UPDATE:

Dusk Golem issued an update, claiming that someone else made the fake report about the game potentially releasing in Q1 2025.

“Someone just faking a screenshot of me to pass along a made-up rumor as something I supposedly said. I see this occasionally. Is what it is, but I thought I should shoot that one down before people buy into it only to get their hopes shot down.”
