Stefano Cagnani has released two episodes for a short horror game based on the Star Wars IP in Unreal Engine 5, called Star Wars: Deathtroopers. Star Wars: Deathtroopers has you fighting hordes of zombie Stormtroopers, with the ultimate goal of surviving your encounter.
The first episode takes place in a Star Destroyer, whereas the second episode is on Endor. In the second episode, players will have to find their way into an Outpost, activate it, and then fight a horde of zombies.
Now the good news is that both of them look great for two small games that were created by a single person. Thanks to Unreal Engine 5, Cagnani was able to create something cool all by himself. Both of these short indie games are also pleasing to the eye.
The bad news is that Cagnani is charging money for them. Star Wars is a protected IP and these games are not associated with Disney in any way. As such, it’s illegal to charge money for such games. Also, they are really short games, so don’t expect much from them.
Now the reason I’m sharing the following video is because there is a lot of potential here for a horror Star Wars game. Plus, this video shows off everything these games have to offer.
Again, this is a cool concept and I’d love to see a triple-A horror game based on the Star Wars IP. Somehow, though, I doubt Disney has such plans for it.
Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, we recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. Contrary to the Star Wars games, these are free to download. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. Then we have The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Demo in Unreal Engine 5.3. Don’t also forget the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 or this free Attack on Titan game. Lastly, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, a remake of Flappy Bird, and a Diablo 2 Remake Demo. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.
