Star Citizen 3.23 PTU

Cloud Imperium has updated Star Citizen’s PC requirements

Cloud Imperium has just updated the official PC system requirements for Star Citizen. These new PC requirements are for the Alpha version of Star Citizen, and not for its final version. So, let’s take a closer look at them.

Star Citizen requires a PC with the ability to run AVX instructions. CPUs that do not meet this requirement will not be able to launch it. Moreover, the game requires a GPU with at least 4GB VRAM and a driver with support for Vulkan 1.2.

So, for running the game, PC gamers will at least need a Quad Core CPU with 16GB of RAM. Cloud Imperium has listed the Intel i7 and the AMD Bulldozer as the minimum required CPUs. Furthermore, you’ll need an NVIDIA GTX1060, an AMD RX 5700, RX Vega 56, RX 460, or an Intel A380.

Cloud Imperium recommends using a Quad/Eight Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5 CPU with 32GB of RAM. Surprisingly enough, the team hasn’t listed any recommended GPUs. All it shared was a “DirectX 12 compatible Graphics Card with 8 GB VRAM”.

It’s also worth noting that the game will now require 100GB of free disk space. The developers also recommend using an SSD for a better gaming experience.

A couple of days ago, we shared a video that showcased Star Citizen’s new Character Creator Tool. So, be sure to check it out if you haven’t already.
