You know what? I suck at writing Editorials. Our last Editorial was in November 2023. Since then, though, nothing really major has happened (internally). So, I never felt the need to write a new one. But, you know what? Perhaps we should have a monthly Editorial column.
The main reason I want to have a monthly Editorial is so that we can give credit to our Patreon members. Although our Patreon campaign has bombed, there are a few people who support us on it. That number may increase or decrease, who knows? However, we should credit those that have been supporting us. And, if you want to contribute, you can do so by following this link.
So, here’s a shoutout to our Patreon members:

Regarding our PC games coverage for May 2024, we won’t have a day-1 PC Performance Analysis for Ghost of Tsushima or Hellblade 2. After all, we don’t have a contact at Sony or Microsoft. However, I’ve already pre-ordered both of them so I’ll be sure to share our initial PC performance impressions on launch day.
Men of War 2 will be also released this month. However, we don’t know whether it has a benchmark tool so that we can benchmark it. I might take a look at its performance and, depending on the release schedule, we might have a PC Performance Analysis for it. The same applies to Homeworld 3 (which will be released on May 13th). From what I know, this game won’t also have a benchmark tool. And, without such a tool, it’s pretty difficult to benchmark strategy games.
So, instead of benchmarking five to six different GPUs, we might simply share our initial PC performance impressions on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. This should allow us to cover both of these games on launch day. These articles should also give you an idea of how they run. Yes, I’ll be using an RTX4090. But if they have performance issues on such a high-end GPU, then you will be aware of them and you’ll be able to skip them.
And that is that. As I said, this Editorial is mainly a Patreon Shoutout. I mean, I’d love to have more to share with you but nothing “bad” has happened these past few months. So, let me now find some more Unreal Engine 5 videos to spam you with!
John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
