Modder ‘youngscrolls’ has released a new mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that aims to replace the game’s music. According to the modder, this mod packs around 3 hours of lore-friendly and high quality original music for the base game and its DLCs.
LORKHAN is a new soundtrack for Skyrim that’s different from Jeremy Soule’s music. It uses less background sounds to give the game a fresh vibe. The music is specially made for important moments in the game, like when you first ride in the cart to Helgen, arrive at Solstheim by boat, shoot Auriel’s bow, or climb up to High Hrothgar. It also has short musical notes for when you finish exploring places or find beautiful views. Plus, there are certain musical phrases that repeat throughout the game to keep everything feeling connected and cool.
In short, this is a mod that a lot of Skyrim audiophiles may appreciate. It’s also different from what we usually post. Thus, it should be compatible with all the Skyrim mods we’ve shared these past few years. At least the simple graphics/gameplay mods. I’m not sure whether it will work with the fan expansions. After all, some fan expansions may have their own custom music.
So, you can go ahead and download this mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a video for it. This video packs over one hour of music, so it can give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it.
Speaking of Skyrim, here are some other big fan expansions for it. Wyrmstooth is one of them, adding new quests and dungeons to the game. This other mod brings elements from The Witcher games into Skyrim. Dragon Hall Tavern is a huge 2GB mod that adds quests, new places, an arena, and more. Then there’s Land of Vominhem, Apotheosis and Legacy of the Dragonborn. Don’t forget to also check out this Castlevania-inspired mod. Oh, and here is another one that adds the cool Nemesis system from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to it. Lastly, we have this mod that adds six new islands to explore.
And that’s not all. Skyrim has other mods that do lots of cool stuff. This Call of Duty Mod adds to the game 12 new fully functional weapons from it. Then we have this mod that adds to Skyrim over 7000 voiced lines via AI. There is also this mod that adds to the game The Witcher 3 Ciri/Geralt Voices. Another cool mod is this one that adds destructible objects to the game. You can also download this mod that makes NPCs smarter, enabling dynamic AI and allowing them to seek cover. Oh, and let’s also not forget this mod that adds unlimited dynamic light sources, as well as this mod that introduces a dynamic sanity system. Not only that but this mod adds a dynamic decapitation system. Finally, these mods add Subsurface Scattering, Dynamic Cubemaps, Water Caustics and Parallax Mapping to the game.
