Arkane Austin has just released Game Update 4, the final patch for Redfall, which adds an Offline Mode. This patch is 16GB in size on the PC, and it’s available right now for download on Steam.
Alongside the Offline Mode, Game Update 4 revamps Neighborhood and Nest systems, and allows you to pause in single-player. It also brings numerous bug fixes and tweaks.
For what it’s worth, Arkane Austin hasn’t yet shared the full patch notes. As soon as it does, I’ll be sure to update this story with it.
This update marks the end of support for Redfall. After all, Microsoft has already announced its plans to close Arkane Austin. Still, the fact that the devs went ahead and released this patch is commendable.
The previous patch for Redfall, Title Update 3, was released in November 2023. This means that this final update came out around six months after it.
Redfall was a game that pretty much nobody wanted. Bethesda and Arkane Austin tried to get their hands on the GaaS jar which backfired. It’s a shame really as Arkane Austin was the team behind Dishonored and PREY. Yes, these weren’t big commercial hits, but they are the games that established what Arkane Austin was capable of.
Anyway, Redfall currently has Very Negative Reviews on Steam. So, this game didn’t have the redemption arc of games like No Man’s Sky and Final Fantasy XIV.
Stay tuned for more!
UPDATE:
Bethesda stated that it will not share any patch notes for this update. However, the company confirmed that this patch also brings new enemy encounters in Redfall Commons, continued AI improvements, a Story Mode difficulty, and a new Unrivaled Weapon.
