Valve has launched the Steam Next Fest June 2024 event. During this event, PC gamers can try free PC demos for a lot of upcoming games. As such, I’ve decided to share those that deserve your attention (at least in my opinion).
Now I know that there are A LOT of PC demos to try. I also know that I won’t be able to cover all of them and that I might miss a hidden gem. So, be sure to share more games in the Comment section.
Also note that these are “limited” demos. In other words, they’ll be playable during the digital fest. So, you can download and play them until June 17th.
Let’s start with the first one. The Alters is an adventure/survival/base-building sci-fi game from 11bit Studios.
Another cool single-player game that has a free demo is Steel Seed. Steel Seed is a single-player stealth action adventure game set in a dark science-fiction world.
As I’ve said numerous times, I’m a big fan of the Cat Quest series. And, as you may have guessed, there is a demo for Cat Quest 3 to try.
For our Metal Slug fans, Focus Home Interactive is offering a demo for Metal Slug Tactics. Metal Slug Tactics is a tactical RPG with some roguelite elements.
The Riven Remake also has a free PC demo to try. Riven Remake is powered by Unreal Engine 5, so be sure to try its demo as it might give you an idea of how the game will run on your PC system.
The upcoming Souls-like game, Enotria: The Last Song, also has a demo to try. If you are a fan of the genre, you should definitely check it out.
Finally, we have Once Human. Once Human is a multiplayer open-world survival game set in a strange, post-apocalyptic future.
Have fun!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
