Deck13 Spotlight and ShrooMoon UG have announced a new game called Elements Destiny. Elements Destiny is a retro JRPG, inspired by those that came out for the SNES. And, to celebrate the announcement, the publisher released the game’s first gameplay trailer. So, let’s dive in and see what’s in store for us.
The trailer shows off the different landscapes you can explore, the turn-based combat system, special skills you can use on the map, and the fun characters. That’s right—the game will have a turn-based combat system, just like the old-school 16-bit RPGs.
Elements Destiny is set in the world of Solitas which is threatened by a new shadow crusade. Players will join Erika as she embarks on a journey into the unknown. The journey will take her throughout Solitas and perhaps beyond.
As with most JRPGs, players will find various companions during their journey. Naturally, every one of them will have special abilities that you can use during the fights against countless fantastic monsters. Moreover, you will awaken elemental powers for Erika. These powers will open up unique possibilities in battle. Not only that but they will also help you overcome various obstacles along the way. Players will also be able to craft unique items, master the elements and experience a complex story. Or at least that’s what the devs claim.
Elements Destiny has been in development for seven years, with the main idea being worked on for almost 20 years. The game promises an 80 to 100-hour adventure. It will be fully voiced in German by well-known anime voice actors and will feature a huge soundtrack with over 100 songs.
In short, if you are a fan of the 16-bit era, you should keep a close look at it. There is currently no ETA on when the game will come out. As always, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
