Well, it took Steam a while to set a new record of concurrent players. Back in March 2024, Valve’s service hit 36 million concurrent players. And earlier today, Steam surpassed that record as it had over 37 million concurrent players.
To be more precise, Steam hit 37,266 million concurrent players. So, my guess is that it will take a while until it manages to pass 38 million concurrent players.
Let’s now take a look at the Top 20 Most Played Games in the last 24 hours. And oh boy, are you in for some surprises.
The most played game right now is Counter-Strike 2, followed by Black Myth: Wukong. Black Myth: Wukong is doing extremely well on Steam. Yes yes, 90% of its sales are reportedly from China. Still, this is irrelevant. The game has sold incredibly well and has become the most-played single-player game on Steam.
In third place we find DOTA 2, followed by Banana. And no, that’s not a joke. Banana is a clicker game, in which you click a Banana. This is a free to play title, and it has Very Positive reviews on Steam. I don’t really know what’s going on here, but this is something that has attracted a huge audience.
In fifth place, we find PUBG: Battlegrounds, followed by GTA5 and Once Human. APEX Legends is in the ninth place and in the tenth place we find Rust.
Before closing, it’s worth noting that Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring and Call of Duty are in the Top 20. We can also find Path of Exile and War Thunder. Civilization VI is also in the eighteenth place.
Finally, Valve’s Deadlock is in the last place. Deadlock is currently in closed beta, however, its participants are able to invite friends. And, as you can see, its beta phase has been huge. So, expect another multiplayer megahit from Valve.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
