Silent Hill 2 Remake will come out next month and apparently, someone has streamed around six hours of gameplay from it. TwitchTV’s member ‘MenosTrece’ most likely got a PC review code and streamed the following gameplay footage.
Sadly, the content creator did not use any performance overlay tools. He also did not reveal the specs of the PC he used. Thus, we can’t really comment on the game’s performance. However, he did share the PC graphics settings.
The video is in Spanish, and since I don’t speak the language, I can’t comment on what was said during the livestream. Maybe someone who speaks Spanish can translate the most important tech details? Just a thought.
Anyway, I’m almost certain that Konami will take it down shortly. Thus, I suggest watching the video while it’s still available.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will be using Unreal Engine 5. In October 2022, Bloober Team shared its initial PC system requirements. According to them, an NVIDIA RTX2080 would be able to run it at 1080p/High/30fps. Since those PC specs were posted two years ago, I’m curious to see whether Konami will update them. For the time being, Steam still lists the same PC requirements.
As I’ve already said, this will be a 1:1 remake of the original. So, don’t expect anything like the Resident Evil remakes. In a way, I prefer this type of remake. After all, a lot of players have complained when remakes make major changes to various parts of the original titles.
Konami will release Silent Hill 2 Remake on October 8th. For what it’s worth, we’ve already requested a PC review code but we haven’t heard back from the publisher. So, it’s uncertain whether or not we’ll have a PC Performance Analysis on launch day.
