Earth Defense Force 6 feature

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 does no longer require an Epic Games account for online play

When it came out, EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 required an Epic Games account for online play. This requirement frustrated a lot of PC gamers, something that is reflected in the game’s Steam Reviews. So, great news everyone as SANDLOT has released a patch that removes the Epic Games account requirement.

Thanks to this update, PC gamers won’t longer have to use an Epic Games account to play online missions. Moreover, you can now unlink your EGS and Steam accounts if you want to. You can find details on how to unlink accounts from this link.

And there you have it, everyone. It might have taken a few months but EDF6 is now the way it was meant to be on Steam. So, let’s hope that PC players will now reverse their negative reviews (that were based on that requirement). After all, that’s the right thing to do, right?

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 picks up three years after the events of its predecessor in the year 2027. The survivors continue their efforts to rebuild against the Primers, but threats to the world’s safety remain. The Earth Defense Force (EDF) is once again called upon to protect the planet from the aggressive extraterrestrial invaders.

In this new Earth Defense Force game, you’ll dive into a fresh storyline with your favorite classes like Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver, and Fencer. There’s loads of cool stuff waiting for you, like tons of new missions and weapons to try out. Plus, you can team up with a friend for some two-player split-screen action or join forces with up to four players online.

Like always, Steam will download this latest update the next time you launch its client. From what I could see, there isn’t any changelog for it. This means that this small update does not pack any other tweaks, fixes or changes. It just removes the EGS account requirement.

Have fun!
